10 Keys to Personal Power
Key 1: Clarity
"Have vision. Determine what you want to be, do or have in life. Have a sense of direction and know where you’re going. If you do not have clear specific goals in life, you are doomed forever to work for others who do."
Having clarity means to have a vision of where you want to go and what you want to do in life. If you don't know how to carve the path for yourself, someone who does will carve it for you. In order to be in control of your future, you have to start with your goals in mind. You must possess the ability to think clearly and with a degree of certainty. The ability to determine exactly what it is that you want to do, have or be in your life is the prerequisite for all personal and professional achievement.Clarity is the starting point of all success. Someone with no sense of where they are going will achieve very little if anything at all. When we have clarity we are able to set our goals and these goals are the goals that will take us to our success. I think an example of this would be for example, going into college without knowing what you want to study. If you go into college studying a major for 3 years, then decide to switch majors, you will have wasted all of your time. This is why you need to start off with a clear sight in order to end with a clear success.
Key 2: Competence
"If you commit to excellence, opportunities will always come your way. The harder you work, the better you get."
Key 2: Competence
"If you commit to excellence, opportunities will always come your way. The harder you work, the better you get."
Competence is the ability to do something successfully. If you commit to do things but sure that it is excellent so that opportunities can open up and go your way. The harder you work the better things will come to you and you will feel good things in your heart, mind, and soul. When one chooses to work hard and not be lazy it is a privilege for them to have what they have since they worked so hard to get it. Lazy people should not get that privilege since they never did the hard work. It is the people who have the drive to work hard who get good things in life. This quote also means that the harder you work at doing something the better you will get at doing it. For example, if a student always cheats on homework, when it comes to the test he will score poorly. But the student who studies and works hard will get a great score on the test and a good grade in the class. In order to commit to excellence you also have to be a CTR person to guide you. Choosing the right will help you make the best desicions & lead you to success. The harder you work by CTR the farther you will go in life. I plan to apply this new way in my life by working really hard in school.
Key 3: Concentration
"Make the best use of your time. Ask yourself “Is this the best use of my time?” before you start anything."
Key 3: Concentration
"Make the best use of your time. Ask yourself “Is this the best use of my time?” before you start anything."
Make the very best use of your time, because if you waste it on things that aren’t important, you will regret your time wasted on these things that weren’t worth it. Instead you should think, analyze, and invert your time on something that will be productive for your future. Ask yourself if you’re really putting your time in something productive or if you’re just wasting it. Time is precious in this life, know -how and who you spend your time with. Before you start inverting your time in something, think and see if you’re doing the right things and investing your time in productiveness that will benefit you later on. You should always concentrate on things that make you a CTR person, not a CTW person. You should only put all your energy and focus on good things that will produce good outcomes. An example of this key would be studying for a big final for your math class. This is making good use of your time because if you study, you will score high on the test. This will lead to an A grade, and will look really good on your transcripts when applying to colleges. I will apply this key to my life by continuing to ask myself if I am making the best use of my time by doing something beneficial or something that is a waste of my time. This key is very important because time is the one thing in the world that we can never get back, so we should use every small moment as we desire.
Key 4: Common Sense
Key 4: Common Sense
- Train your mind
- think things through
- listen to your intuition
- learn from setbacks
In order to be truly successful, you need to be able to train your mind. For example if you have a bank account you need to train your mind to stick to a budget. If you don't stick to the budget and follow through with the plan, you will be deemed to fail. You need to be able to have a mindset that allows you to thoroughly think though things. If you just make a decision without any thought it most likely wont be a good one. You also need to listen to your gut when making decisions. You have to decide what decisions are in your best interests and make you feel good. Being a CTR person makes decision making easier because you have righteous mindset. You won't ever make a wrong decision if you really value choosing the right. I will apply this way to my life by thinking about all my decisions and choosing the right path. One wrong decision can strongly impact my life which is why I need to cautious and train my mind.
Key 5: Creativity
"Except the fact that every human being is a genius. The hallmark of creativity is asking questions. The people who are most creative ask the most questions."
Key 5: Creativity
"Except the fact that every human being is a genius. The hallmark of creativity is asking questions. The people who are most creative ask the most questions."
Creativity is the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality. Creativity is characterized by the ability to perceive the world in new ways, to find hidden patterns, to make connections between seemingly unrelated phenomena, and to generate solutions. Creativity involves two processes: thinking, then producing. Some people say creativity has nothing to do with innovation that innovation is a discipline, implying that creativity is not. Well, I disagree. Creativity is also a discipline and a crucial part of the innovation equation. There is no innovation without creativity. The key metric in both creativity and innovation is value creation.Creativity begins with a foundation of knowledge, learning a discipline, and mastering a way of thinking. You can learn to be creative by experimenting, exploring, questioning assumptions, using imagination and synthesizing information. Learning to be creative is akin to learning a sport. It requires practice to develop the right muscles and a supportive environment in which to flourish.
School Break Days <3
During my school break I met the most amazing person ever. I got to talk and learn more about him. The weirdest thing ever was that we met on the PS4. He is the most generous and kindest person I have ever met in my life. He's not from the U.S and he doesn't speak English but I can manage. We spoke for the very first time yesturday and it was the best. I believe that I am so lucky that I got to meet him. The craziest thing is that we talk all day everyday. Our time diffreance is five hours apart. Sometimes I feel like he doesn't even sleep because he stays up talking to me. He makes me so happy and little by little he is changing my life. I speak more spanish and i listen to spanish music now. He completed my life...

Class Evaluation
- I really liked this class beacuse its so fun and we learn alot of life lessons. One thing I really liked about the class was that we got to experiment with Scratch. Its a really fun way to get to learn more about coding. One game that I really liked is how you can code the Scratch cat to do whatever you want it to.
- I didnt like that we didnt do any random card check.
- I think to improve the class we should do something different everyday, instead of always having the same routine.
- A highlight for me was doing the Computer Science Vocabulary because I got to learn new words and definitions.
- I believe I tried really hard on all of my blog posts and also completing flashcard machine cards. My current grade is an A. I believe I thouroughly reflected on all of my blog posts and really understood the content.
- Yes, I do try to write in and read my life-planning goals journal at least 5 minutes a day. I really like to do this because it allows me to really analyze and reflect on my goals, as well as make journal entries about my day.
- I am committed to being a CTR person because it allows me to grow in a positive way and if you Choose the Right, you will never go wrong. Choosing the Right has been very important to me because it allows me to be successsful at school, work, and at home.

Electric Drive Vehicles
Electric cars run partially on electricity. Unlike conventional vehicles that use gas or diesel-powered engines, electric cars and trucks use an electric motor powered by electricity from batteries or a fuel cell. Not all electric vehicles work the same way. Plug-in hybrids offer both gas or diesel engine and an electric motor: the motor is powered by a battery that can be recharged by plugging in. Other EVs forgo liquid fuels entirely, operating exclusively on electricity. Still others power an electric motor by converting hydrogen gas into electricity. Conventional hybrid vehicles also have an electric motor, but aren’t considered EVs as they can’t be plugged-in. Electric cars in terms of air pollution and greenhouse gasses is that more safe and efficient option. Though they can be very pricy, the cost is often reduced through federal and state incentives. Just 2 months ago, I was at an electric vehicle fair event with Communities for a Better Environment. We were a booth at the event advocating one of our programs which help low income families afford clean and electric vehicles. In order to switch from a toxic to healthy community, electric cars could be the start of something great.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Habit 1: Be Proactive
"Habit 1 is the key to unlocking all the other habits and that's why it comes first. It says, "I am the captain of my life. I can choose my attitude. I'm responsible for my own happiness or unhappiness. I am in the driver's seat of my destiny, not just a passenger."
Being proactive means to take responsibility for your own life. We can't always blame our family, friends, or others for certain things that happen in our life. Proactive people recognize that they are "responsible." They don't blame genetics, circumstances, or conditions for there behavior, because they know they choose how to behave. Opposite to reactive people who for example, might base how they are feeling off the weather. All of the external sources act as stimuli that we choose to respond to. Between the stimuli and the response is our power, the freedom to choose a response. Proactive people focus their time and energy on things they can control, instead of things they have no control over. For example, a proactive person will wake up in the morning and say "Today will be a great day." Those are things we can control, but sometimes choose not to because of problems or obstacles that come up throughout the day. In order to become a proactive person, I need to work on recognizing that I choose my actions, attitudes, and moods. I will not blame others for my wrong actions. I will do the right thing without being asked, even when no one is looking.
Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind
"Control your own destiny or someone else will." (Jack Welch)
Habit 3: Put First Things First
"Organize and execute around priorities."
Habit 4: Think Win-Win
"Think win-win or no deal."
This habit is talking about how you should always think positive about yourself and never negative. Positive thoughts will help you be successful in life and it will let you know that you are going to achieve all those goals you have set for yourself. If everyone you know is giving you a hard time then ignore them. Don't let their negative comments affect your way of living and succeeding. Just always keep in mind that you can do it or you are going to make it. That will help you stay confident with your school work by just repeating to yourself those words. In the end you will only have yourself and your happiness. You are the only one that knows what you want to do and how you are going to achieve that. You will be the one to pick yourself up every time that you feel like falling and giving up.
Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, then to be Understood
If you attempt to come up with a solution for a person’s dilemma before you fully understand it do you honestly think they are ever going to fully trust you? Would you trust your mechanic to bill you for parts for your car that he only thinks are broken based purely on what you are telling him is wrong? Maybe unless you know for a fact that the person is an automotive psychic You would expect him “or her” to take a look at your car and do some work on it “first” before requesting payment, “Right?” If you are the one playing mechanic when someone brings a problem to you; the only really good way to insure that they will trust you and what you prescribe as a solution for them to work with is through your practice of empathetic listening. We should also be empathetic lsiteners and putting ourselves in others people's shoes before judging the situation.
"The whole is greater than the sum of its parts (1+1=3)"
Habit 6: Synergize
If you attempt to come up with a solution for a person’s dilemma before you fully understand it do you honestly think they are ever going to fully trust you? Would you trust your mechanic to bill you for parts for your car that he only thinks are broken based purely on what you are telling him is wrong? Maybe unless you know for a fact that the person is an automotive psychic. You would expect him “or her” to take a look at your car and do some work on it “first” before requesting payment, “Right?” If you are the one playing mechanic when someone brings a problem to you; the only really good way to insure that they will trust you and what you prescribe as a solution for them to work with is through your practice of empathetic listening. We should also be empathetic lsiteners and putting ourselves in others people's shoes before judging the situation. We should put ourselves in someone else's shoes before judging the sitaution. We never know what one might be going through, and we can probably help them out with whatever problem they are facing. However the main key is to step back, analyze the solution, then you can take a side on the situation. I plan to apply this to my life by being more compassionate with others.
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw
Four Dimensions of Self-Renewal: Physical, Mental, Spiritual, Social/Emotional
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw
Four Dimensions of Self-Renewal: Physical, Mental, Spiritual, Social/Emotional
Physical, Mental, Spiritual, Social/Emotional Sharpening The Saw is an ongoing process of personal change , you need to define your own balanced, four-dimensional life to be successful! If you are a leader, I believe part of your role is to help the people who report into you and/or look up to you, explore these things and establish goals for themselves.Stephen says, It means exercising all four dimensions of our nature, regularly and consistently in a wise and balanced way. To do this we have to be proactive. I love the words exercise and balance. Proactive means we have to plan for it to put it in our schedule and protect the time, for all 4 of the above mentioned dimensions.Self improvement takes time just like working out and getting fit.It is not something that you can just achieve overnight, you need to give yourself time to do it. Once you do the results will be highly beneficial to you. I plan to sharpen the saw by undergoing changes within myself to become a better person.
Reflection:
These 7 Habits of Highly Effective People really taught me alot on how to be an effective person towards success. It has taught me to put my needs before my wants and also to prioritze. I will commit to these 7 Habits by trying to practice one everyday of the week.

Importance of Setting Goals
Goal setting is an important component of students' motivation, self-regulation, and achievement in academic settings. A goal is a behavior or outcome that one is consciously trying to perform or attain. Goal setting refers to the process of establishing that behavior or outcome to serve as the aim of one's actions. Some goals that I have make is getting to graduation with my friend. I try to make goal that are difficult to achieve There’s a very common pattern that comes with working towards goals that we’re all familiar with: you set your mind to something, you get excited and work like mad, and then motivation starts to wane. Having goals that you can focus on and visualize helps you better connect yourself with your inner desires, and gives you the motivational energy you need to work through periods where your focus inevitably starts to wane.
